Get Your PADI Open Water Certification

Embark on your diving journey with our comprehensive PADI Open Water Certification program. This course is the perfect starting point for anyone eager to explore the wonders of the underwater world. Our program consists of three key components: eLearning, Pool Training, and Open Water Dives.

Overview: Begin your adventure with online learning through the PADI website. This self-paced module covers essential topics such as diving physiology, gear, and safety.

Access: After enrolling in a class, you'll receive a code from us to access your eLearning materials.

Support: Eric, our lead instructor, is always available to answer any questions you may have during your eLearning journey.

Dive Planning: In addition to online learning, you'll participate in a 2-hour in-person session focused on dive planning, ensuring you're well-prepared for your practical training.

Location: Derby Recreation Center

Schedule: Typically conducted over a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) from noon to 4:15 pm.

Dives: 5 pool dives where you’ll master basic diving skills in a controlled environment. You will become familiar with your gear and learn a range of basic scuba skills from mask clearing, buoyancy control and underwater safety. You will practice skills until you’re comfortable.

Class Size: We keep our classes small, with a maximum of 6 students, to provide personalized instruction and attention.

Location: Beaver Lake or another suitable open water location.

Schedule: A weekend excursion involving 3 dives on Saturday and 1 dive on Sunday.

Experience: These dives offer a practical application of the skills learned in the pool, allowing you to explore real underwater environments safely.

Completion: Upon completion of class, you will be an Open Water Scuba Diver.  Your certification is good for life, but periodic refreshers are encouraged.  You will be able to dive up to a depth of 60 feet.  You will also be able to rent or buy your own gear.
